Plop keeps a simple diary of when you poo, so the people you choose can keep an eye on you. That's health information, so here's exactly what we keep, who sees it, and how to get rid of it.
What Plop stores
- The name and picture you choose (no email, phone number or password).
- Your plops: the time, how long you sat (if you tap Done), and anything you add in "How was it?" (type, flags and tags).
- Which PLOP Pods you're in, and your settings.
- Reactions and check-ins you send.
- A notification address for each phone you turn notifications on for, and your phone's time zone (so nudges only arrive in the daytime).
Who sees it
- Only people in your pods, and only in pods where you share your plops. If you just watch a pod, your plops stay hidden there.
- Your tags (like ☕ or 🌸) are only ever shown to you.
- A 🩸 blood flag is only shown to your pods if you tick "Let my pods know".
- Rhythm nudges and your Monday recap go to you alone.
- The GP report is made on your phone and goes nowhere unless you share it.
What Plop doesn't do
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics companies, and we never sell or share your data.
Where it's kept
Plop runs on Cloudflare, which stores the data and runs the app. Notifications are delivered by Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android); they carry a short message like "Sam is having a plop" and are encrypted on the way.
Your choices
- Download my data (Settings › Your data) gives you everything Plop holds about you.
- Delete my account removes you, your plops, reactions, check-ins and settings from every pod and phone, straight away and for good.
- Leaving a pod removes your plops from it. Removing a plop deletes it.
Health information
Plop is a diary, not a medical device, and its tips aren't medical advice. If you're worried about your health, see a GP or call NHS 111. If there's a lot of blood, or you feel very unwell, call 999.
